About

I am currently a PhD student at UC Santa Barbara studying mathematics. I graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. My research interests include Functional Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, and Mathematical Physics. My past work has focused on fluid dynamics, conformal mappings, and Koopman-von Neumann mechanics.

Beyond mathematics, I'm also interested in philosophy; in particular, I'm fascinated by metaphysics, ontology, and existentialism. Additionally, I enjoy reading, surfing, video games, and playing guitar. I grew up in New Jersey, and I am also half Portuguese. My favorite color is perano, which is the background of my website.

If I were a Springer-Verlag Graduate Text in Mathematics, I would be Frank Warner's Foundations of Differentiable Manifolds and Lie Groups.

I give a clear, detailed, and careful development of the basic facts on manifold theory and Lie Groups. I include differentiable manifolds, tensors and differentiable forms. Lie groups and homogenous spaces, integration on manifolds, and in addition provide a proof of the de Rham theorem via sheaf cohomology theory, and develop the local theory of elliptic operators culminating in a proof of the Hodge theorem. Those interested in any of the diverse areas of mathematics requiring the notion of a differentiable manifold will find me extremely useful.
